A Gate at the Stairs

As the United States prepares for war, twenty-year-old Tassie Keltjin leaves her Midwestern farm home for college, her mind alight with new ideas. She takes a part-time nanny job for a mysterious and glamorous family, growing unexpectedly attached to their newly adopted daughter. As Tassie is drawn deeper into their lives, her own family back home begins to unravel, leaving her feeling increasingly alienated.
