Synopsis

Stevie Bowman is a physiotherapist fresh out of graduate school. She has just been dumped by a cheating boyfriend and just moved into a new Seattle apartment. Her building neighbor turns out to be Bishop Winslow, a forward on the city's NHL expansion team. Their first meeting goes badly: he mistakes her for someone else and treats her accordingly.

Stevie's older brother captains that same team, which puts brother and neighbor on a collision course neither of them planned. When Bishop needs help recovering from an injury, Stevie sees an opening. She will get him back on the ice faster if he puts in a good word for her with the team's athletes. Professional distance is the plan, but their banter has other ideas.

The book alternates chapters between Stevie and Bishop as two people who start out annoyed with each other end up unable to stay away. Her brother is watching, and Bishop's own history keeps getting in the way.

This is the second book in Helena Hunting's All In series, following Rook and Lainey's story in A Lie for a Lie. It reads on its own. Expect banter-heavy contemporary romance, a slow build from rivalry to friendship, and real heat once the two stop pretending they are only helping each other out.
