Synopsis

Romeria survives New York by picking pockets for a crime boss who owns her debts. A stranger with a blade at her throat drags her into Islor, a world split between two warring elven kingdoms and bound by elemental magic.

She wakes in the body of Ybaris's captured princess, the woman who poisoned Islor's king and queen on her own wedding day. Her task is simple: find a stone hidden in a sacred garden, then vanish before anyone learns who she really is.

Her betrothed, the newly crowned King Zander, wants her dead and needs her alive in equal measure. He offers her a choice: a cell, or help rooting out the conspiracy closing in on his throne. Romeria plays the doting queen-to-be to buy time.

The closer she gets to Zander, the harder the act becomes to keep up. Digging into the garden's secrets uncovers a feud between Ybaris and Islor that runs deeper, and darker, than the crown she is impersonating. This is the first book in the Fate & Flame series, a slow-burn hate-to-love romantasy that turns from a heist into a court intrigue without losing its edge.
