Synopsis

Laura Dalwood, a widow with no desire to remarry, finds herself acting as a surrogate mother to the son of Mark Cheney, the Earl of Dartmouth. Pressured by her godmother, she considers marrying the Earl to simplify their arrangement. However, rumors suggest Mark may have killed his first wife, and Laura soon experiences a series of unsettling accidents, raising questions about her own safety.
