Synopsis

A Destiny of Dragons is the second book in T.J. Klune's Tales from Verania series, picking up roughly a year after Sam of Wilds got his happy ending with Knight Commander Ryan Foxheart. Sam's parents are thriving, his friends Gary and Tiggy are doing well, and Sam himself has settled into life — aside from the occasional kidnapping. That peace ends when Vadoma, leader of the gypsy clan and Sam's grandmother, arrives at the City of Lockes with a warning: a man of shadows is rising and will consume the world unless Sam faces his destiny and gathers the five dragons of Verania. She brings her second-in-command, Ruv, whom she claims is tied to Sam in ways he doesn't expect. The book keeps the series' broad, comic tone while raising the emotional stakes of Sam's story.
