James Grippando
James Grippando (b. 1958) is an American novelist and attorney from Waukegan, Illinois. A former trial lawyer, he practiced law for over a decade, including death-penalty appellate work, before becoming a full-time writer following his 1994 debut, The Pardon. He is best known for the long-running Jack Swyteck series of legal thrillers set in Miami, Florida, and won the 2017 Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction for Gone Again.
