Note: I did not read this in one day. I actually started it a week ago and just didn’t get to goodreads till now.
I. Love. This. Book. It’s beautiful and amazing and everything I needed to read right now. It was a perfect book for me, in this moment. I couldn’t love it more.
When I was about halfway through, I was talking to my mom about it, when I realized something. I haven’t been this excited about a book in a while. Not since I read Renegades in January. And my life’s gone through a couple major shifts since then. Reading this book was like having my soul shifted back into place. I’m so glad I could read it.
Personal thoughts aside, the characters are nothing short of real. Lila and Kell and Holland and Rhy—they’re all so intensely human it hurts. Even the bad guys have a beating heart somewhere beneath their cruelty. The storytelling is beautiful, simple to read yet crafted so elegantly. Really, I’d recommend this one without a doubt.
