A Curse of Beasts and Magic

A Curse of Beasts and Magic
Synopsis
A Curse of Beasts and Magic is the first book in Jeaniene Frost's Beautiful and Beastly series, published by Tor in May 2026. Frost pitches it as Beauty and the Beast crossed with The Witcher, with the twist that Beauty is the one carrying the Beast.
Raine Stone survived the attack that killed her family, and has carried a Beast inside her ever since. It feeds on violence and chaos, and she keeps its appetite in check by working the city streets as a vigilante — spending the Beast's hunger on people who have it coming, and telling no one what she is.
One night she uses the Beast's energy to heal an elderly man attacked at random, and the act pulls her into a world she did not know existed. Remington "Remy" Byrne is the Warden who guards the gateways between our world and a realm of deadly mythic beings, and he knows exactly how thin the wall between them has worn. What Raine did marks her, and it puts her in Remy's orbit and in the sights of everything on the other side.
It is urban fantasy with a strong romance line, in the register Frost's readers will know from the Night Huntress books.
