Synopsis

Captain Adam Deveril, a war hero, inherits a viscountcy and a mountain of debt. To save his family estate, he must enter a marriage of convenience with the wealthy but plain Jenny Chawleigh, despite his heart belonging to the beautiful Julia Oversley. Adam finds himself increasingly entangled with Jenny, who proves to be more than she appears, while Julia's jealousy threatens to expose them all.
