A Burnable Book: A Novel
In 1385 London, young King Richard II faces mortal danger from ruthless courtiers and a prophecy of his assassination. A seditious "burnable book" foretells the end of England's kings, and its cryptic verses are spreading. Wily bureaucrat Geoffrey Chaucer enlists poet John Gower to find the manuscript, which has fallen into innocent hands. Gower uncovers a conspiracy reaching from the king's court to London's slums, potentially implicating his own son, and he may be the only one who can save the king.
