Synopsis

Franco Allessi is drowning his grief in a bottle after losing his wife, until a bar fight lands him in front of a judge — who sentences him to fifty hours of community service at a hospice. There he meets Aubrey Brewer, a woman in her early forties in the final stage of a battle with cancer, who has never stopped believing that hope is worth holding onto.

What starts as an obligation becomes an unlikely, deeply felt connection. Aubrey has dreams she was never allowed to chase — held back for years by a domineering mother and an ex-husband who never took her seriously — and as her time runs short, Franco risks everything, including his own freedom, to help her live them out before the end.

Adapted by Loree Lough from Kevin James O'Neill's screenplay, 50 Hours is a quiet, aching story about what people find in each other when there's almost no time left.
