Goodnight Punpun, Vol. 2

This second omnibus volume continues Inio Asano's coming-of-age story following Punpun Onodera, depicted as an increasingly abstract bird-like figure set against starkly realistic art. As his family unravels further and his feelings for his childhood crush intensify, Punpun's hyperactive, anxious inner world becomes harder to separate from the deteriorating reality around him.

Asano's blend of surreal character design and unflinching emotional honesty has made Goodnight Punpun one of manga's most acclaimed depressive coming-of-age stories, and this volume deepens both its darkness and its tenderness.
