Synopsis

In 1634, the Grantville Americans, stranded in the 17th century, must fight their way through the Baltic and Central Europe as the Thirty Years' War rages around them. As the Swedish and Imperial armies close in, the Grantville forces—equipped with modern tactics and technology—must outmaneuver their enemies in a desperate campaign to break the siege of Lübeck and secure their foothold in a world that has already begun to forget them. The novel concludes two major arcs from the earlier books: the fate of the Grantville diplomats held by King Charles I and the outcome of the naval and land battles that will decide the fate of the Baltic.
