Young Inspector Erlendur

This atmospheric Icelandic noir series follows a young, introspective Erlendur Sveinsson as he begins his career in the Reykjavik police force during the mid-to-late twentieth century. Readers observe the quiet formation of his detective skills and the origins of his personal melancholia as he investigates missing persons cases and local tragedies. It is an essential procedural series for those who appreciate slow-burning, character-driven mysteries set against bleak northern landscapes.
