World Perspectives

World Perspectives was a series of short books by eminent 20th-century thinkers, edited by Ruth Nanda Anshen and published by Harper & Row beginning in the 1950s. Each volume is a single author's own statement on the changing religious, scientific, philosophical, political, economic and social forces shaping the human experience, rather than parts of one continuous story — contributors across its 50+ volumes included Jacques Maritain, Werner Heisenberg, Lewis Mumford, Paul Tillich, Ivan Illich and Erich Fromm.
