Suicide Squad (2011)
Amanda Waller assembles a team of dangerous criminals for high-risk black ops missions. These reluctant recruits, including Deadshot and Harley Quinn, face betrayal and deadly threats while working for a secret government agency. The series explores their forced alliances and the shadowy organization known as Basilisk.
The series begins with "Kicked in the Teeth," followed by "Basilisk Rising," and then "Death is for Suckers." There are additional volumes that continue the storyline.
This series is part of the New 52 continuity, which rebooted the DC Universe. It features characters and events that tie into the broader DC Comics shared universe during that era.
While there are multiple live-action adaptations featuring the Suicide Squad, the 2011 comic series specifically influenced the character portrayals and team dynamics seen in some of the modern film versions.
While each volume has its own arc, the series features an overarching narrative and character development that is best appreciated by reading the books in order.
