Hairy Maclary

Hairy Maclary is New Zealand author-illustrator Lynley Dodd's original picture-book series, begun in 1983 with "Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy." Told in bouncing rhyming verse, the books follow Hairy Maclary — the smallest and scruffiest of a pack of neighbourhood dogs — through a run of comic misadventures in a small town, most often crossing paths with the fearsome tomcat Scarface Claw.
