A series of anthologies published by Doubleday, Page & Company in the early 1900s, each gathering classic literature considered essential reading for children. Volumes include "Poems Every Child Should Know" (1904), edited by Mary E. Burt, and "Fairy Tales Every Child Should Know" (1907), edited by Hamilton Wright Mabie and drawing on tales by Hans Christian Andersen, George MacDonald, Robert Southey and others. The wider library also included volumes such as "Myths," "Legends," "Songs" and "Famous Stories" Every Child Should Know, most of which are not yet catalogued here.
