Robert Harris
Cicero
Narrated by his confidential secretary and slave Tiro, the trilogy chronicles the political career of Marcus Tullius Cicero, following his rise from an ambitious advocate to Consul of Rome, through the Catiline conspiracy and exile, to his final struggle to preserve the collapsing Roman Republic against rising autocrats and civil war.
The Cicero series should be read in chronological order to fully appreciate the political and personal development of the main character. Start with Imperium, then move to Lustrum, and conclude with Dictator.
The Cicero series is a standalone work focusing exclusively on the life of Cicero and does not directly connect with characters or events from Robert Harris's other historical thrillers.
As of my last update, there has been no film or television adaptation of Robert Harris's Cicero trilogy.
