About this series

Choose Your Own Adventure is the original interactive gamebook series created by Edward Packard and published by Bantam Books from 1979 to 1998. Each book is written in the second person, with the reader cast as the protagonist and making choices at the end of each page or chapter that branch the story toward one of many different endings. The series ran to 184 numbered entries, principally written by Edward Packard and R. A. Montgomery alongside a rotating cast of other authors.
