# Seekquel > Seekquel is one book app for iPhone, Android and the web, meant to replace the two or three a reader otherwise runs: it logs and rates books, hosts clubs, buddy reads and reading challenges, and keeps the reading log current from KOReader, Readest, Xteink and Calibre. The reader also builds the home screen from the cards they use, switches off the rest, and sets who sees each part of their profile. Seekquel has a lot in it (badges, monthly bingo, a reading garden, streaks, book clubs, buddy reads, a community feed, stats, notes), and none of it is compulsory. A card switched off the home screen stops appearing, and everything social sits on one Community tab the reader never has to open. Many readers use it as a plain reading log. Facts on this page were checked against the app on 25 September 2026. ## What the reader sets - **Home screen:** more than thirty cards, dragged into order or switched off. The stats page and the public profile are arranged the same way. - **Visibility:** the profile is public, followers-only or private, and around twenty settings each show or hide one part (currently reading, stats, badges, challenges, reviews, followers, reading preferences, each of the seven profile tabs), plus who can message you and whether follows need approval. New accounts start with the profile public and activity posted to the feed; signup offers three starting points and every setting can be changed later. - **Appearance:** over 20 colour themes, text size, reduced motion and reduced transparency. - **Data:** no ads on any plan, reading data is never sold, usage analytics are asked for and can be declined, and everything a reader adds can be exported. ## Tracking and reading - Log books by status, progress, re-reads and reading time, with a built-in reading timer. - Rate with half-stars (tenths on Pro) and review on five axes beside the overall score: writing, characters, plot, atmosphere and impact. - Stats all year: a live dashboard, calendar heatmap, pace, streaks and a monthly recap. - Series tracking shows the reader's place and the next book. - Content warnings on book pages. - Notes and highlights: photograph a passage and the text is read from the photo, or type it; Kindle "My Clippings.txt" and other exports can be imported. - Home-screen widgets on iPhone and Android. - An in-app reader for EPUBs and audiobooks (MP3, M4B, M4A) the reader keeps in Google Drive or on their phone. Seekquel keeps no copy. Reading your own books is part of Pro. ## Goals and challenges Daily targets in minutes or pages, longer reading challenges, a new reading bingo card each month, badges and streaks. Shared goals let several readers work towards one target. ## Discovery Recommendations come from the reader's own ratings and reading history, with search by mood and trope. Seekquel does not write AI commentary about the reader or their books. ## Moving from another app and connecting devices - Import a CSV export from Goodreads, StoryGraph or Hardcover: ratings, shelves, reading dates and reviews come across. Files from other apps are not supported. - KOReader (on Kobo, Kindle, PocketBook, Boox, reMarkable and others): place, reading time, highlights and finished books sync through a free add-on. - Readest (desktop, phone and web): place, reading time, highlights and finished books sync. - Xteink X3, X4 and X4 Pro (CrossPoint or CrossInk firmware): place syncs, with nothing to install. - Cinder Reader (iPhone and Android): your place in each book syncs. - Calibre: a plugin carries reading status, ratings, reviews and reading dates in both directions. - Every connection is free. ## Community (optional) Follows, reviews, a community feed, direct messages, buddy reads and book clubs, all on the Community tab. Free accounts can run one buddy read of their own at a time and start one book club, and can join as many of either as they like; Pro raises both limits. ## Free and Pro Free covers the library and reading log, the customizable home screen, every privacy setting, discovery, five-axis reviews, imports, badges, goals, and joining book clubs and buddy reads. Pro adds deeper stats and charts, tenths in ratings, reading your own books, more themes, higher limits for clubs, buddy reads, shared goals and note photos, and more. Pro is sold monthly, yearly or as a one-time lifetime purchase, with a 14-day free trial that starts in the app. Current prices are on the pricing section of https://seekquel.app/. ## Pages - [Home](https://seekquel.app/): what Seekquel is, pricing and FAQ. - [Privacy and control](https://seekquel.app/private-book-tracker): the home screen, visibility settings and what is optional. - [Compare apps](https://seekquel.app/compare): Seekquel against Goodreads, The StoryGraph, Fable and Hardcover. - [Goodreads alternative](https://seekquel.app/goodreads-alternative), [StoryGraph alternative](https://seekquel.app/storygraph-alternative), [Fable alternative](https://seekquel.app/fable-alternative), [Hardcover alternative](https://seekquel.app/hardcover-alternative): where each app is the better pick and how to move a library over. - [Goodreads alternatives in 2026](https://seekquel.app/blog/goodreads-alternatives): StoryGraph, Hardcover, Fable, BookWyrm, LibraryThing and Seekquel side by side, with who each one suits. - [Integrations](https://seekquel.app/integrations): KOReader, Readest, Xteink and Calibre, with setup steps. - [Ebook reader](https://seekquel.app/ebook-reader): reading your own EPUBs and audiobooks. - [Book tracking](https://seekquel.app/book-tracking), [Reading stats](https://seekquel.app/reading-stats), [Reading goals](https://seekquel.app/reading-goals), [Reading challenges](https://seekquel.app/reading-challenges), [Reading notes](https://seekquel.app/reading-notes), [Book discovery](https://seekquel.app/book-discovery), [Social reading](https://seekquel.app/social-reading), [Book clubs](https://seekquel.app/book-clubs-app): feature pages. - [Browse](https://seekquel.app/browse): the book catalogue. - [Help center](https://seekquel.app/help): how each feature works. - [Changelog](https://seekquel.app/changelog): what changed in each release. - [About](https://seekquel.app/about): who makes Seekquel. - [Support](https://seekquel.app/support): how to reach the team. - [Privacy policy](https://seekquel.app/privacy), [Terms](https://seekquel.app/terms). ## App downloads - iPhone and iPad: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/seekquel-book-tracker/id6763808445 - Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seekquel.app ## About Seekquel is made by Mohamed Sabri Ben Chaabane in Tunisia, who writes the code and the words; his wife and a few friends test every release.
