Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks for the votes and the suggestions. This profile shelf is still planned, with no release date yet. We've noted the requests to use cover colours for the spines and to display earned badges as decorations. Those additions are suggestions for the design, rather than confirmed parts of the first release. The existing shelf view in your library remains available while this is being considered.

integration with kindle app or amazon account
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks for the suggestion. The Kindle app is closed software and Amazon gives no official way to read a person's reading progress, highlights or library from it, so there is nothing for us to connect to. KOReader is the only way we can sync reading properly, because it is open and our add-on runs inside it. Until then, the reading timer and manual progress work with any app, and you can bring in shelves, ratings and dates from Goodreads, StoryGraph or Hardcover through the import screen.

Can’t access Seekquel outside the US
Sabri Ben Chaabane: No, you shouldn't need a VPN to use Seekquel while traveling, including syncing from KOReader on your Kobo. I checked access from Tunisia and could reach Seekquel, so this isn't a general US-only restriction. I haven't confirmed what's blocking your connection yet. Could you tell me which country you're visiting, whether the app fails on Wi-Fi, mobile data, or both with the VPN off, and the exact messages shown by the app and KOReader? If possible, also open https://api.seekquel.app/up in your phone's browser with the VPN off and tell me what appears. A screenshot of any error page would help narrow this down.

Importing a missing edition says the ISBN already exists, but it doesn't appear in the list
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks Simon, you were right: that edition was already in Seekquel, but the edition list wasn't letting you find it. This is fixed on the website. Open The Haunting of Hill House, choose Editions and search for 9780141927541. The Penguin eBook from 2009 now appears with its cover and 256 pages. You can open that copy from the row. The list also loads more editions, and entering an existing ISBN in Add edition now points you to the copy already there. On the app, accept the latest app update first.

Search page doesn't react to top-level search
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks Henrik, both search boxes should work. This is fixed on the website, and I checked your exact flow: after searching for Darkness of Light, entering Haunting of Hill House in the top search box updates the results and the search box on the page. Going back restores the previous search too. Reload the website, or accept the latest app update if you're using the app.

Library view suggestions
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks Henrik, list view now shows the format of the copy you're tracking, alongside audiobook length when that length is known. This is available in your shelves and All books on the website; the app needs the latest update. It shows your selected copy's format, rather than every format the catalogue holds for that title. Missing audiobook lengths still need to be added to the edition.

Book edition view suggestions
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks Henrik, the edition rows have now been updated. Each row shows its ISBN, or its ASIN when there is no ISBN. An edition with a different title leads with that title, with its format and year beneath it. Missing details are listed so you can see what still needs filling in. Audiobook length appears whenever it has been added; an unknown length is shown as a missing detail. This is live on the website and included in the latest app update.

Series Buddy Read

We're planning to make series easier: when a buddy read finishes and the book is part of a series, everyone in it will get an offer to start the next book together. One tap sends the invites to the same group, and each person can join or sit it out.

Add “Select all” / “Deselect all” when adding Goodreads editions
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks for the detailed note. Select all and Deselect all are now in the Goodreads edition list, next to a search box and language and format filters. Filter to the Spanish editions, then use Select shown to pick just those; Deselect shown works on the filtered list too. It's in the latest update. Pasting a cover from the clipboard on desktop isn't there yet, and we've noted it.

When using the new clear or tinted widget styles in iPadOS27, the book covers don’t appear, just white
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks for catching this. The covers weren't told to keep their own colours, so Clear and Tinted painted them white. It's fixed, and the covers will show normally in both styles from the next app update.

Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks Aru, this fix is now released. The halfway-through card uses the percentage recorded when the post was created, so a book with no page count no longer turns its bar into 0%. Your reading progress wasn't lost. Reload the website or accept the latest app update to see the corrected card.

No option to upload files from iPhone to Seekquel reader
Sabri Ben Chaabane: You read the help center right, and it was wrong. Adding a book from your phone's storage isn't available yet, on iPhone or Android. For now books come from Google Drive only, and we've corrected the help center. Adding from your phone is on our list, and we'll reply here when it arrives.

Immersion
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks for the suggestion. You're asking to keep the EPUB open while its audiobook plays, without having to switch between the two. That isn't available in Seekquel yet, and there isn't a release date. We've kept the request for consideration. My earlier reply made word-by-word matching sound necessary for any version of this; simultaneous reading and playback could be useful without the text following the narration automatically.

Application Optimization
Sabri Ben Chaabane: An update on offline use: the latest app update lets you open a previously loaded library and book without a connection, and keeps supported changes on your phone until you reconnect. Reading progress, status and rating changes can wait for a connection, and you can add a private book offline. This offline reading support is now available to everyone. That doesn't cover every screen or a bulk import of old reading sessions. Those parts of your request remain unresolved, so I'm keeping this at Responded rather than marking the whole request complete.

Counting books read more than once
Sabri Ben Chaabane: The reread counting change is now released. Every completed read counts in the year you finished it, so two reads of the same book in one year count as two. Rereading also keeps the earlier read in its original year. Reading goals and monthly totals use those completed reads too, and the Books read card shows the number of different books when it differs from the total. Reload the website or accept the latest app update.

Koreader plugin won’t update from the device
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks for clarifying that you installed the update manually. My earlier reply should not have treated the version your Kobo reported as proof that updating from the device had worked. The current add-on has clearer messages for failed update attempts and checks the files before replacing them. If updating from the device fails again, please reply with the exact message and your KOReader version. I'm keeping this report at Responded because your manual install resolved the immediate problem, but doesn't confirm what caused that failed attempt. Thanks for confirming that Seekquel now appears in Storefront too.

Pages read on Readest are not being tracked on Seekquel properly for some reason
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks Michaella, this is a bug on our side, not anything you did. Readest sends your reading to Seekquel in small batches while you read. Since an update on the 22nd, Seekquel has been keeping only the biggest of those batches for each day instead of adding them all together, so a long session shows up as a handful of pages. That's why finishing Small Worlds only counted 5 pages toward yesterday's goal, and why this morning's Beloved session barely registered. Your reading isn't lost. Every page turn Readest sent is saved on our side, so once the fix is out we'll put the missing pages back on the right days. I'll update this post when that's done.

Improvement in koreader plugin.
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks for catching this, and for sending the description in the first place. Here's what happened: ebook files store their description as web page code, so the text from your copy of The Epic of Gilgamesh came with its formatting tags attached. Your account can publish corrections straight away, so it went live immediately, and nothing on our side cleaned it up first. That's our gap, not something you did wrong. We're fixing it where descriptions come in. From now on, any description sent to a book will have that code converted as it arrives: paragraphs stay paragraphs, italics and bold stay italic and bold, and everything else is removed. We'll also clean up the Gilgamesh page and other books that picked up the same problem, so you don't need to send it again.

Tier List Improvements
Sabri Ben Chaabane: These tier-list picker improvements are now released. Tap a selected book again to remove it without leaving the picker. Filter by Year read to choose books from a particular year, then use Add all matching to add the filtered books together, up to the tier list's limit. Reload the website or accept the latest app update to use them.

Format Tracking
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks Michaella, this went out in last night's update. Open any book in your library and you'll see a Format row with your own details. Tap it to pick the format of your copy (hardcover, paperback, ebook, audiobook and so on), even if the catalogue has no edition in that format. Each read keeps its own format, so if you read a book in paperback and later listened to the audiobook, both reads stay correct. The By format breakdown on your stats page counts what you set there. If something looks off or you'd like it to work differently, reply here and I'll take a look.

Narrator limit too low
Sabri Ben Chaabane: Thanks Henrik, both limits are now fixed and live. An edition accepts up to 100 narrator credits, and Add a missing book accepts the full cast rather than refusing it after 255 characters. The same support applies when submitting an edition or capturing it with the bookmarklet. For the book you added with one narrator, you can suggest the remaining cast from its book page. The compact Read by line may show fewer names, while the full cast remains in the credits.
