Lloyd Marcus

Lloyd Marcus (1948-2020) was an American conservative activist, singer, songwriter, and columnist who called himself "The Unhyphenated American," rejecting hyphenated labels in favor of a common American identity.

One of the Tea Party movement's most prominent Black voices, he chaired the Conservative Campaign Committee PAC and performed at hundreds of rallies on national bus tours, known for songs such as the "American Tea Party Anthem."

A syndicated columnist for outlets including Canada Free Press and Renew America, he wrote "Confessions of a Black Conservative," arguing that conservative principles best serve Black Americans. He died in 2020 at the age of 71.
