About

Viktor Frankl (1905–1997) was an Austrian neurologist, psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor. He founded logotherapy, a school of psychotherapy centered on the human search for meaning, sometimes called the "third Viennese school" after those of Freud and Adler. Frankl survived three years in Nazi concentration camps, including Theresienstadt and Auschwitz, and drew on that experience in his best-known book, originally published in German in 1946 as Trotzdem Ja zum Leben sagen and later in English as Man's Search for Meaning.
